Job Description

Responsibilities
The Manager, Data & Business Intelligence will be a key member of the Data Team, contributing to the management of the full lifecycle of our data warehousing needs. Our data warehouse and data operations are built on top of Amazon Web Services using a modern data warehousing stack which includes the use of Amazon Redshift, Apache Airflow and Sisense for reporting.
In carrying out the key responsibilities of the role, the Manger, Data & Business Intelligence will;
• Lead a team of passionate data scientists and data engineers. Proactivity in driving excellence, innovation and team performance through a progressive people and project management approach that includes;
• Managing and monitoring individual and team progress towards delivery and embedding a culture of ongoing feedback and knowledge sharing.
• Collaboration with colleagues and advising senior management on opportunities to improve such as implementing new processes and emerging technologies.
• Building capacity within and across the team through a strong focus and support of data engineering learning and development activities.
• Pro-actively manage and contribute to building ETL, BI Reports, etc.
• Manage the day-to-day operations for the smooth running our Data Warehouse.
• Build data pipelines and ETLs for loading source system data into the data warehouse for further reporting and analysis.
• Assist in building scalable data models to support reporting and tracking of key business and product metrics.
• Build, analyze and manage reports and dashboards for business stakeholders.
• Help identify better practices, tools, and relevant trends that can positively influence the data operations across the business.

Qualifications/Requirements
• 10+ years of Data engineering and including experience in;

○ Running and managing a Data Marts and Data Warehouse.

○ Working at a senior level., contributing to a management team and leading and managing a team of data scientists and engineers toward growth and success.

○ Business Intelligence technologies.

○ AWS, Python

○ Building Data Marts and Data Modeling

○ SQL (MySQL, Postgres, Redshift)

○ ETL tools such as Astronomer/Airflow, Boomi.

○ Frontend BI Tools (eg Periscope, Sisense, Tableau).

• Apply knowledge and understanding of data quality principles and practices.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, changing environment.
• Communicate and collaborate effectively with business users and other developers.
• Apply creative thinking and a proactive approach to developing innovative ideas across a wide variety of business functions.
