Responsibilities

The NBCU Local Division consists of 43 local NBC and TLMD stations and 6 Regional Sports Networks. The Manager position is a collaborative role on the HQ NBCU Owned TV Stations Controllership team. This position will play a key role in ensuring strong financial controllership across the NBCU Owned NBC and Telemundo TV Stations, as well as driving operational excellence and supporting new growth opportunities. Reporting into the Director of Controllership, this role will manage the Senior Financial Analyst as well work closely with the NBCU Corporate Financial Reporting team, market leads, and HQ Finance team.

Responsibilities:
• Key contributor to the monthly close and financial reporting processes, including review of journal entries, Balance Sheet variance analysis, NBCU Corporate data requests and supporting schedules with oversight of the NBCU Owned TV Stations consolidated accounting and reporting.
• Review and monitor monthly balance sheet account reconciliations, ensuring that account balances are properly supported and appropriately recorded in accordance with GAAP and company policies.
• Assist in the preparation and presentation of the quarterly Balance Sheet review package to Group Controller and CFOs.
• Manage and develop Senior Financial Analyst staff
• Perform technical accounting research as required. Assist in providing technical guidance to NBCU Local HQ and market finance teams to implement new standards as necessary including developing internal policies that align with corporate guidance.
• Build relationships with NBCU Local HQ finance team and market finance teams to analyze and optimize results.
• Oversight of leasing tool and ensure proper lease analysis in accordance with GAAP.
• Drive appropriate and consistent accounting treatment, while reviewing finance processes to improve overall efficiency and accuracy.
• Manage internal and/or external audit requests
• Assist with ad-hoc projects as needed

Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
• Willingness to travel and work overtime, and on weekends with short notice
• Minimum 4+ years of experience in accounting and/or Finance related fields
• CPA preferred
• Must be willing to work in New York, NY
• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
• Must be 18 years or older

• Prior experience in media/entertainment industry a plus
• Prior managerial experience a plus
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills required

• Strong analytic and accounting skill/knowledge
• Detail oriented
• Team player and positive attitude
• Understanding of SAP and Blackline and proficient in Microsoft applications

Salary range: $85,000 - $115,000; bonus eligible
