Responsibilities

NBCU is searching for a person to come on board and help lead the Content Insights function of the Strategy & Insights department for all Latin America. S/he will serve as an in-house consultant to the consumer-focused areas of the business (e.g. Programming, Marketing) and provide strategic recommendations to improve our audience performance across the region though the use of analytical tools, reports, and analyses.

Ideal applicants will be strategic thinkers and insights-producers, with a passion for media research, and enthusiasm for media/entertainment across all screens.

Job Duties:
• Manager will lead Content Insights function for all Latin America, helping the consumer-focused teams define strategies that will improve our audiences across NBCU's properties
• Partner as an in-house consultant to the heads of the content, marketing, and creative by providing them insights-based recommendations, including but not limited to: programming strategies, sizing markets for marketing initiatives, defining and understanding the viewer experience, helping optimize promo-planning campaigns
• Supervise, train, and mentor the Content Insights Coordinator
• Be the expert in what are the latest audience trends that are driving viewership in each market (e.g. Mexico, Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Argentina, Central America) across all screens
• Have a thorough understanding on how programming rights work so that s/he can apply this knowledge to data analysis and provide cohesive recommendations to improve audience
• Identify, develop, update, and maintain the reports we will need by combining syndicated research data (e.g. Kantar IBOPE, TGI), first party data, and data visualization software (e.g. Tableau, Domo, etc.)
• Help in the development of status presentations for the Board and management team
• Help determine and track the correct KPI's to grow our audience appropriately
• Serve as a representative of NBCU in industry research-related meetings where audience measurement methodologies are discussed, evaluated, and decided
• Manage relationship and negotiations with key data partners in the region
• Proactively foster an audience and data centric mentality among peers by educating them on all things related to media metrics and its best practices, as well as constantly sharing the latest insights
• Turn external and internal data sets into stories for better product and market understanding companywide
• Collaborate with the rest of the Strategy & Insights team and find opportunities of creating efficiencies among department peers

Qualifications/Requirements
• Fully fluent in English is a must
• 5+ years of relevant media research experience required including TV, cross platform, agency or consumer research
• 3+ years of managerial experience
• 2+ years of experience supporting a TV network group
• Strong quantitative and qualitative skills, including both analytical abilities as well as math proficiency
• Strong presentation, communication, and writing skills, both in English and Spanish
• Deep knowledge of the competitive media landscape across the different Latin America markets, preferably Mexico, Brazil, Colombia, Argentina, and Chile
• Proficient with TV and digital metrics tools, such as IBOPE Media Workstation, TGI, and ComScore
• Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
• Intermediate knowledge in Data Visualizations tools (such as Tableau, Power BI, and Domo)
• Ability to identify, distill, and articulate clear and actionable brand stories, insights and recommendations from a variety of data sources
• A proven multitasker - ability to manage numerous projects independently in a fast-¬paced, deadline-driven environment
• Bachelor's degree in advertising, communication, economics, management information systems, marketing, mathematics, media, psychology, or statistics, preferred
• Knowledge and understanding of the television industry relevant to broadcast, cable and new media, including research terminology and methodology
• Self-starter and proactive thinker with an innate curiosity, bias for action and desire to push beyond the status quo

Desired Characteristics
• Advanced study in Business or Data Analytics
• Portuguese is a plus, but not required
• SQL, Python, and/or R knowledge is a plus, but not required
• Facebook analytics, Social Bakers, Auditsa, Google Analytics, and Adobe Analytics experience preferred
• Experience leading qualitative studies
