Responsibilities
The Manager of Accounting will play a key role in the general accounting and compliance of Telemundo Network. This role provides an outstanding opportunity to learn about Telemundo's Spanish broadcast network, its sister cable network Universo and its content production in Miami, Mexico, and Argentina. The position will report to the VP, Operational Controller, and will work closely with finance leadership across Telemundo as well as Controllership across NBCU's portfolio.
This position will support the monthly close and the overall accounting processes to ensure accurate and timely reporting. The role will support the (i) standardization of existing processes with the rest of NBCU's TV & Streaming group, (ii) identification of business process efficiencies, and (iii) implementation of best practices. This position is expected to challenge the status quo and consider more enhanced approaches and methodologies to support Telemundo's overall close and control structure.
Operational:
• Prepare monthly journal entries using the journal entry tool, ensuring 100% of journal entries are loaded to SAP using the tool, and prepare account reconciliations within the account reconciliation tool accurately and timely. Support finance with the same efforts.
• Review monthly journal entries and account reconciliations
• Responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of General Ledger, including SAP maintenance and support for finance
• Manage reconciliation system i.e. providing access, assigning reconciliations, grouping accounts for efficiency, training 3rd party service provider on reconciliations, reviewing reports for acknowledgment of required adjustments on both debit and credit accounts and closing of the prior month required adjustments
• Ensure controls over journal entries and reconciliations are being performed timely; support and design training on a periodic basis
• Prepare and assist with reporting Balance Sheet variance analysis and quarterly review with Telemundo's CFO, VP of FP&A, and Corporate Accounting
• Timely preparation of quarterly data requests for Corporate Accounting Reporting for purposes of internal and external reporting purposes
• Assisting with tracking and review of accounting issues
• Process documentation for new and existing processes and contribution of new ideas for efficiencies
• Oversee T&E & P-Card programs; accruals, audits and reporting
• Assist in leading projects and other initiatives to improve the control environment, accounting process consistency, and efficiency
• Perform ad hoc reporting and special projects as requested
People:
• Develop and maintain positive and productive working relationships with the business finance and controllership teams
• Be nimble in working with various departments across the portfolio
• Enthusiastic and ambitious personality in sharing ideas and ability to contribute to producing high-quality results and being actively involved in process improvement
• Oversee Senior accountant
• Opportunity to lead interns assigned to the group to develop leadership skills
Process Improvement:
• Support team in identifying the transition of work from finance to controllership
• Participate in process re-design for all key relevant financial ledger processes and systems to achieve monthly close; participate in the identification of areas for improvement and optimization by leveraging technology and eliminating redundancies
• An integral member of an accounting team that delivers quality accounting services as well as governance and control while supporting the close process based on a defined calendar
• Develop an in-depth understanding of key corporate subsystem applications and the interface with the financial ledger
Qualifications
Basic Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
• Knowledge of US GAAP
• Minimum of 4-5 years of accounting experience, inclusive of 2+ years of Big 4 public accounting experience strongly preferred
• CPA or on the path to obtaining CPA License preferred

Additional Requirements
• This position has been designated as a hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
