Responsibilities
Role Purpose
Manager, Accounting and Reporting, with a focus on Film and TV Costs, participates in the day-to-day operations of the Film Headquarters Controllership team, and assists in a wide range of accounting, finance and consolidation matters for the Filmed Entertainment segment, including supporting financial reporting obligations to NBCUniversal Corporate, Comcast, and external parties. The role is in a fast-paced headquarters environment, interfaces with teams domestically and internationally, and has opportunities for growth.

Responsibilities
• Plan the close timeline, including coordinating with the various Production Finance and FP&A teams of Universal Pictures, Focus Features, Universal 1440 Entertainment, DreamWorks Animation.
• Oversight of the monthly and quarter close process for our $3B global Film and TV Cost asset balance, including review close and classification journal entries, monitoring and validating balances, reviewing account reconciliations, rollforwards, and investigating variances to prior periods.
• Review NBCU Corporate data request submissions, gather, and consolidate information from various sources.
• Review and analyze the Balance Sheet Variance Analytic for Film and TV Costs and other areas, including analyzing explanations (and support if necessary).
• Review and present quarterly Balance Sheet Review packet to Filmed Entertainment's SVP Global Controller and CFO.
• Research and manage Film and TV Cost related technical accounting and policy documentation.
• Facilitate ad hoc requests and questions from the business, assess financial and operational impact to existing processes, and propose, develop, and communicate resolution.
• Escalate timely significant, unusual transactions or issues to Director, Accounting and Reporting and VP Assistant Controller.
• Participate and collaborate on corporate driven initiatives (e.g., functional transformation as well as smaller projects such as Journal Entry Park and Post, Allocations, etc.) and assist in implementing process change across the business units.
• Identify and implement Film HQ process improvement initiatives and opportunities to build efficiencies into existing accounting and reporting processes.
• Participate and manage relevant SOX 404 key controls and the internal and external audit requests.
• Coach and develop two Senior Financial Analyst level staff, leading by example with a strong work ethic, providing meaningful goals and objectives, as well as thoughtful and timely feedback on performance levels. Help talent consider, plan, and implement long-term careers at NBCU.
• Assist with ad-hoc projects as needed.

Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
- Minimum of 6+ years of finance experience. Combination of public accounting and entertainment industry preferred. Straight public candidates with significant experience working with entertainment industry and relevant technical accounting matters will be considered.
- CPA preferred.
- Strong / exceptional Excel skills and working knowledge of Powerpoint
- Strong leadership skills and ability to work with multiple business units/divisions.
- Excellent Project Management skills, detail oriented, proactive approach to problem solving.
