Responsibilities
The position is responsible for formulating and supporting the growth of the Local Acquisitions (LAQ) business, working closely with Production and Acquisition, Anime/Music, Rights, Business Development, and core FP&A, including key areas such as:
• Facilitate processes and coordinate with stakeholders in managing Board Packs (Project Investment Analysis) and obtaining approval from UK/US HQ.
• Ownership of Japan greenlighting – Check and Review the financials, consolidate and finalize the Board Pack deck, follow up on approvals, and finally record the documents for tracking, etc.
• Understand the LAQ content pipeline/LRP (Long Range Plan) and manage reporting
• Manage and process ad-hoc inquiries and requests on behalf of overall LAQ business
• Financials: Board Pack, Board Pack vs Actual analysis, etc.
Detailed responsibilities (List of responsibilities, in order of priority, with the first being highest)
• Take the lead of overall Board Pack process, vetting financials, developing a coherent sales pitch, and approval process.
• Manage the meetings required for approvals including the internal group meetings/UK calls, etc., and act as the primary point of contact
• Track approval status and documentation, update the database as necessary
• Review approval documents for management review meetings in advance, and maintain a high quality of approval process and documentations
• Run the BP financial model, working w/ LAQ producers
• Full ownership of the LAQ content pipeline tracker and LRP
• Fulfil ad hoc research requests from Content Group and Japan's senior management in a timely, accurate and professional manner.
• Support presentations for management on business review, etc.
• Monitor departmental performance and report to LAQ director with insights
• Join cross-departmental projects and assist the team from a financial feasibility viewpoint
• Support ad hoc reporting and analysis
Working relations (one or two sentences describing internal and external relationships):
Works closely with LAQ team (Directors and Producers) and FP&A in Finance, and liaison to the UK/US content group.
Qualifications/Requirements
Qualifications & experience:
* Minimum 3-5 years of experience in financial planning/commercial finance (preferably in the media entertainment industry)
* Strong analytical skill, Critical thinker, Inquisitive
* Previous experience coordinating across multiple teams
* Independent and proactive
* Extensive experience with Excel/Powerpoint (Tableau/Power BI etc a plus)
* Bilingual and bicultural in Japanese (Native/Fluent) and English (Fluent/Advanced)
