Financial Reporting & Sales Analyst (FTC - 1 Year)

Responsibilities
OVERVIEW
For almost a century, Universal has been known for its diverse slate of films, including classics such as Jaws, the Jurassic Park series, Mamma Mia, Fast and Furious and Bourne. Universal Pictures International (UPI) owns and operates direct theatrical marketing and distribution of feature films in many locations around the globe including Austria, Australia, New Zealand, France, Germany, Italy, Korea, Mexico, Netherlands, Russia, Spain, Switzerland and UK & Eire. In other territories UPI market and distribute movies through its JV offices, as well as in select territories, licensees who are contracted to distribute on UPl's behalf as well as production operations, a leading television stations group, and world-renowned theme parks.

Working alongside the ANZ Business Analyst and the local Finance team to provide market and sales analysis, as well as meeting internal and external reporting responsibilities. Also maintenance of forecasting models and ability to learn various systems, including UPI's booking and billing system (UNIFY), reporting system (MAGIC), and studio partner systems and tools.

Key Responsibilities
• Market and sales analysis (Australia and New Zealand) for internal parties including Managing Director, Sales team, Finance team, and Marketing team to help prepare and meet various forecast / reporting requirements
• Liaise with the Sales and FP&A team regarding revisions of box office estimates, pre- and weekend opening reports and release dates
• Responsible for meeting external reporting requirements and deadline (e.g. MPDAA)
• Assessing accuracy of local territory estimates via over/under spends analysis and comparative information
• Ensure reporting systems (e.g. Magic) correctly reflect latest financials
• Prepare pre-release estimates and post release profit and loss reports in consultation with Home Entertainment and Television divisions
• Maintain competitive release schedule and film fact information
• Supporting the H/O and regional FP&A teams with integration of eOne and any other adhoc requests
• Responsible for monthly financial reporting to external and internal parties such as Head Office, eOne and Warner Bros.
• Assisting the Finance team with month, quarter and year end responsibilities
• Responsible for set up of WBS's for all UPI titles, including eOne and Warner Bros.
• Ensuring ongoing self development
• Taking all other tasks as allocated by the Group Financial Controller, Finance & Sales Directors

Qualifications/Requirements
ABOUT YOU
• Strong understanding of financial and business analysis skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Highly proficient in Excel
• Experience working in cross functional teams and supporting the business with appropriate analytical information
• Ability to work in a fast dynamic environment whist managing competing priorities and ensuring completeness / accuracy of all estimates
• Media experience an advantage
• Must be enthusiastic and have a passion for movies

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
• You must have the right to work in Australia i.e have Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency
• Relevant undergraduate degree (desirable)
• Demonstrated experience with supporting the business with appropriate data and analysis
