Responsibilities

Role Purpose

The Financial Analyst, Credit and Collections is responsible for cash application and customer account reconciliations for NBCUniversal Local Ad Sales Receivables. The ideal candidate will embody the NBCUniversal values of integrity, creativity, teamwork, pioneering spirit and ownership. This individual should demonstrate strong initiative, ownership and accountability. They should confidently participate in team discussions and provide recommendations for process improvements. This position will report to the Director of Finance, Credit and Collections.

General Responsibilities
• Daily, batch and apply payments to customer accounts for all NBCU Local properties.
• Analyze remittance details, research, problem solve and follow standard operating procedures to ensure timely and accurate cash application to customer accounts.
• Code receivables in SAP A/R to reflect disputes, partial payments, litigation, etc.
• Initiate workflows to Sales for invoice short-payments to clear discrepancies timely.
• Monitor lockbox activity for cash application completeness.
• Adhere to strict deadlines to meet month and quarter end financial closes.
• Perform reconciliations on complex customer accounts, including matching pre-payments for Ad Sales to exact commercial time and digital buys.
• Perform maintenance on A/R, including write-offs to bad debt and refunds.
• Perform weekly and monthly cash reconciliation.
• Respond to audit requests for invoices and payment detail.
• Support NBCU Local Sales and Finance organizations as needed.
• Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Qualifications
• Finance/Accounting Degree with an emphasis in Media preferred.
• Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Wide Orbit Traffic and SAP or demonstrated ability to adapt to new systems.
• Prior cash application, accounts receivable and/or account reconciliation preferred.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills; ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work and communicate effectively with internal and external clients, including Sales, Finance, Senior Management and NBCU Local agencies and advertisers.
• Detail and process oriented with strong analytical skills.
• Motivated self-starter; ability to work independently and as member of a team.
• Willingness and ability to drive change and process improvement.
• Fluent in Spanish a plus.

Additional Requirements:
