Responsibilities
OVERVIEW
We are looking for a highly collaborative, creative, energetic finance professional to work as part of the team at Matchbox Pictures. The successful candidate will provide support to financial reporting, general ledger maintenance and process improvement across the Matchbox business. Reporting to the Finance Manager, Matchbox Pictures, this role will work in a small team across Sydney and Melbourne with engagement throughout NBCUniversal finance globally. It would suit a first move from private practice into industry or for anyone looking to gain experience in a dynamic media finance role

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Maintain approved general accounting practices to ensure accounting, financial and operating reports accurately reflect the condition of the business
• Maintain the general accounting functions including journals, accruals, reconciliations, month end processing, source documents and other supporting documentation
• Responsible for month end, quarter end and year end close for Matchbox companies
• Prepare and post various transactional journals
• Maintain intercompany accounts and transactions including intercompany eliminations and recharges
• Manage the revenue/accounts receivable operation of the business including invoicing, cash collection and external reporting
• Manage and report on current development projects to relevant stakeholders
• Lodge ATO & IRD tax related requirements as required for various Matchbox companies
• Manage and report payroll tax for Matchbox companies and complete group annual reporting requirements for all Matchbox companies
• Maintenance of the fixed asset register
• Responsible for reconciliation of all Matchbox bank accounts (includes bank entries, including fees, interest, transfers, manual payment entries & accounts receivable receipting)
• Completion of NBCU quarterly reporting requirements- balance sheet reporting
• Responsible for managing Matchbox's reporting- royalty reporting & reporting of participation
• Take lead in managing Concur expense system

Audit and Statutory Accounting
• Manage interim and full year audit process for the Matchbox companies (corporate & production companies)
• Assist with the completion of annual statutory accounts / financial statements
• Assist the Finance manager with analysis with regards to annual tax calculations
Oversee Production Accounting Functions
• Review & upload production trial balances into SAP on monthly basis
• Responsible for set-up of new productions with external finance team (PAYG, payroll tax etc)
• Point of contact for external production accountants
• Working closely with the Finance manager & VP, Finance on relevant business matters and providing the necessary assistance as required
• Ensure activities comply with legal, professional and ethical standards

Qualifications/Requirements
REQUIREMENTS
• Degree qualified
• 3-5 years' experience
• Recently qualified CA/CPA or part-qualified
• Prior industry experience is desirable but not essential
• Previous exposure to SAP is desirable but not essential
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel (incl. a good understanding of pivot tables and file links)
