OVERVIEW

NBCUniversal is seeking a talented, hands-on professional who operates collaboratively to establish and lead our Employee Relations (ER) Team in the UK. The ideal candidate is an experienced ER, HR or employment legal professional with deep employee relations experience, capable of delivering outstanding results in the areas of ER, including performance management, grievances, disciplinary matters, investigations and general case management. As this is a newly-formed team, the Senior Director, ER will be required to set up a highly effective team and establish all processes and operating procedures. Reporting to the VP, HR, Corporate, you will partner closely with Employment Law, HR client support teams, Line Managers and other Business Leaders to support management in the handling of ER cases and provide leadership, expertise and partnership to managers and employees.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

⦁ Deliver value-add, best in class ER support for all employee relations issues including, but not limited to: grievance and disciplinary investigations, absence and performance management.

⦁ Maintain positive ER by driving consistency, compliance and efficiency and to build support for increased employee engagement through the delivery of the effective resolution of ER issues.

⦁ Work closely with HR client support partners and Employment Law regarding ER recommendations. Assist with the implementation of business goals, objectives, policies and procedures as well as ER strategies and guidelines.

⦁ Advise leaders and HR Partners on ER matters while guaranteeing adherence with company policy, local legislation and regulations.

⦁ Establish and maintain ongoing strong relationships with key partners to include, but not limited to: Business Leaders, HR Partners, Employment Law and Fair Employment Practices.

⦁ Conduct prompt, thorough and detailed ER cases ensuring timely interviews, appropriate stakeholder updates and proper documentation.

⦁ Maintain knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation and ensure the company's compliance, working closely with Employment Law to execute on action plans.

⦁ Continue the optimization of ER by designing and implementing standard methodologies of risk analysis, case and performance management and processes.

⦁ Recruit, motivate and develop an Employee Relations team, committed to delivering an outstanding service, working in partnership with HR and the business

⦁ Provide counsel to the HR team to ensure employee advocacy, objective investigations/case management and sound risk mitigation.

⦁ Ensure that meticulous records are maintained, and i-Sight system is kept up to date.

⦁ Assess and provide periodic reporting to HR client support teams and HR COE's (Learning, Talent Acquisition, Compensation etc.) with suggested actions to assess risk and improve the employee experience.

⦁ Develop insights from data to inform ER process and program improvements, and share findings with key partners to develop and deliver plans.
⦁ Assist in delivering consultations in large-scale restructuring programs if required.

Skills/Experience:

⦁ Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
⦁ Deep Employee Relations experience, gained in either specialist roles or HR Generalist roles
⦁ Extensive UK employment law knowledge
⦁ Experience working with HRIS/case management systems
⦁ Team leadership experience
⦁ Experience of establishing an Employee Relations function would be ideal
⦁ Proven working experience with Microsoft Office Suite
⦁ Superb organisational skills and time management to meet deadlines
⦁ Excellent verbal and written communication skills
