Freelance Editor -SNY

Responsibilities

Position Overview:

PLEASE NOTE: This is a project / limited term position with an estimated duration of up to 12 months, unless otherwise amended or terminated as deliverables within this project are completed.

The Freelance Editor will edit content for use in various / multiple sports programs, both long form and short form content, such as weekly studio-based programs, live news, digital, and remote programs such as teases, highlights, packages, Voice Overs and Sound On Tape. These elements generally are time sensitive and require an eye for detail and a quick hand. At times, the Freelance Editor will be expected to work on their own with little supervision.

Job Duties:
• Edit for 30 and 60 minute shows
• Edit show features and long-form programming
• Edit for Pre and Postgame Live shows, as well as live other programming
• Edit content for our digital platforms
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
• Create graphics when needed in Avid

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience required
• Minimum of 1+ years of Avid editing experience required
• Ability to edit both long and short form packages
• Ability to color correct
• Knowledge of Interplay is required

Desired Characteristics

Desired Qualifications
• Must have well rounded knowledge of Avid and its applications
• Working knowledge of Marquee title tool is a plus
• Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Premiere is a plus
• Willingness to work non-traditional business days/hours
• Ability to use multiple formats and resolutions
• Ability to edit under pressure of multiple deadlines
• Excellent attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills required
• Ability to work in a fast paced, high pressure environment
• Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and leadership qualities with the ability to handle multiple tasks and set priorities
