About the Role
NBCU's EVP, Inclusion – Talent & Content for Global Talent Development & Inclusion (GTDI) has an opening for a Director reporting to the Sr. Director, TV/Streaming Creative Talent & Content. This is a pivotal role in which the candidate will contribute in the building and implementation of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) practices across the NBCUniversal portfolio, in a fast-paced, rapidly growing department. The candidate will develop, launch and maintain programs and initiatives designed to increase representation amongst creative production talent including writers, directors, on-camera and unscripted showrunners. The role also involves reviewing material (scripts, cuts, etc) and providing feedback to creative executives and producers related to DEI and cultural sensitivities.

About GTDI
First established in 2017 as a groundbreaking diversity and inclusion department for the feature film industry by Universal Filmed Entertainment Group Chairman Donna Langley, business-led GTDI expanded its purview in 2020 to add television and streaming which includes the Universal Studio Group led by Chairman Pearlena Igbokwe, as well as the Entertainment Group led by Chairmen Susan Rovner and Frances Berwick. Building upon NBCUniversal's commitment to diversify the landscape of our industry by creating access and opportunities for underrepresented talent at all levels of production and within NBCU's work culture, GTDI partners with businesses across NBCU including Production, Human Resources, Corporate Communications, Corporate Diversity, Corporate Social Responsibility, Legal and Labor Relations.

Essential Responsibilities:
• Develop curriculum, lead strategies, and execute creative programs and initiatives such as, but not limited to, NBCUniversal's TV/Streaming writing, directing, and casting programs and initiatives
• Manage, guide and develop action plans to current program participants and alumni to build career momentum
• Provide and articulate clear, objective content assessment from a DEI lens on TV/Streaming live-action content (scripted and unscripted) and TV animation
• Provide casting and staffing recommendations including scripted and unscripted above-the-line positions, below-the-line positions, and talent
• Contribute and help the team maintain databases and tracking systems for production creative talent and for mid- and year-end reporting
• Prepare and participate in presentations and panel discussions to amplify GTDI programs and initiatives
• Identify suitable content and artwork for social media platforms, including, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram
• Track NBCUniversal related media announcements relevant to diversity and inclusion
• Participate and engage in DEI and workforce initiatives

Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
• Minimum 5 years industry experience, working in live-action scripted TV development and/or current programming for a network, major studio, or major production company
• Minimum 5 years of people management experience
• Bachelor's Degree
• Understanding of the creative production process for live-action TV writing and directing
• Knowledge of the TV staffing process for writers and the securing of episodic assignments for directors
• Knowledge of the film and TV studio system and key players in the industry
• Familiarity and relationships with scripted TV creative and production talent, including but not limited to live-action writers, directors, and below-the-line crew
• A passion for diversity, equity, and inclusion
• Ability to cultivate strong relationships and successfully interact with senior leadership and staff at all levels
• Ability to adapt, problem solve and anticipate potential needs in a very fast-paced environment while managing a heavy workload
• Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook and advanced PowerPoint as well as Adobe Photoshop and PDFs

• Keeps abreast of industry developments/trends and company news as it relates to film production as well as inclusivity
• Knowledge of unscripted development, production, staffing, and casting a plus, but not required
