Job Description
Responsibilities

The Director of Talent and Casting will report to the SVP/Head of Unscripted Talent and Casting for NBCU's Entertainment Content Group. This individual will manage unscripted and alternative talent for NBC, Peacock, E!, Bravo, Oxygen, Syfy, USA, Universal Kids, Syndication Studios, E! News, Live Events & Specials. Their deep understanding of the tone and branding for each network will allow them to strategically identify the appropriate talent recommendations for the NBCU Entertainment Content Group.

Responsibilities:
• Leading and managing brainstorming talent names, identifying finalists, communicating with
their representatives, and advocating for the placement of appropriate talent in presentations,
pilots, and series
• Partnering with Creative Executives and Business Affairs on structuring innovative approaches to
talent deals and aligning the goals of all internal stakeholders
• Identifying & meeting with talent ranging from emerging influencers to long established
household names
• Maintaining talent relationships across all designated projects
• Maintaining a pre-existing & extensive network of relationships with the broader talent andtalent representative community as well as actively & consistently building new ones with
unrepresented talent, managers, agents, publicists, and others
• Collaborating with network producers to determine their specific show needs
• Liaising between on-air talent & internal NBCU stakeholder needs
• Liaising between talent representatives & NBCU
• Attending events to scout potential talent & partnerships

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
• A passion for unscripted & alternative on-camera talent
• Bachelor's degree
• 7+ years in unscripted talent with a proven track record of casting and booking talent
on presentations, pilots, and series
• Extensive talent representative relationships & contacts for working actors, comedians,
musicians, athletes, influencers, and other on-camera talent
• The power of persuasion as well as social capital with talent representatives
• Deep knowledge of talent agreements, negotiation, and deal making
• An independent self-starter who can oversee their projects from start to finish without support but has the experience to know which matters require higher levels of approval
• Experience working with on-camera talent and providing talent with direct, real-time feedback during production
• Proficiency in Keynote and MS Office Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams)
• Previous talent experience at a network, studio, production company or talent booking
company
• Willing and able to attend casting and talent related events after hours and/or on weekends
• Some travel required

• Strong written, verbal, and non-verbal communication skills with a high level of emotional
intelligence, tact, evenness, and diplomacy
• Experience in unscripted television & digital content, ideally from a talent or development
standpoint
• Team player who works well with others, is passionate about the entertainment industry, an
avid TV watcher, and a strategic thinker
• Willing to proactively learn new things independently and a strong desire to continue to grow
professionally both through NBCU professional development resources and through self education
• Problem solver who presents proposed solutions when presenting challenges and pitches new
ideas to resolve pain points
• Ability to work with and manage expectations of individuals with widely varying and sometimes
conflicting personalities, interests, directives, and goals
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and high energy environment

Additional Requirements:
