Role Purpose
Th e Multicultural Marketing team is part of the marketing department of Universal Pictures. The team is responsible for engaging across all disciplines of film marketing to identify, refine, develop and integrate tactics and materials to enhance and enrich outreach to diverse audiences.

The Director of Multicultural Marketing has an important role within the Multicultural Marketing team at Universal Pictures. The ideal candidate is an innovative marketing generalist who can combine their robust entertainment experience, cultural intuition, digital-native insight and media savvy to build groundbreaking tactics that drive awareness and intent from diverse movie-loving communities. This multi-disciplinary role requires an individual that is comfortable switching from cultural subject matter expert, strategic thinker, digital innovator, inspired storyteller, and inclusive project manager. They will have a strong track record of having developed and executed out-of-the-box programs that have impacted culture, as well as maintain deep relationships with current diverse partners and influencers.

The candidate must be self-motivated, entrepreneurial, disciplined, highly organized, and able to communicate effectively across d epartments and with senior executives and filmmakers.

Responsibilities:
• Leverage cultural intuition to develop and manage ground-breaking and inclusive marketing ideas under a unified global campaign strategy that will super-serve outreach to new audiences inclu ding multicultural Millennials and Gen Z, and Black, AAPI, LGBTQ+ and Hispanic/Black Faith communities.
• Lead the development and execution of select multicultural digital marketing and collaborate with the Global Digital team to creatively concept digital ideas across social, earned and paid media.
• Collaborate with colleagues from media, digital, publicity, film music, and creative to produce innovative bespoke multicultural tactics and ensure that all work is grounded in understanding diverse moviegoers.
• Develop strategic multicultural partnerships (influencers, brands, platforms, etc) across key moviegoer interest verticals (e.g. youth culture, social impact, music, fashion, gaming).
• Identify key moments to activate and amplify emerging and trending culture across the campaign calendar through a mix of content, IRL experiential, and virtual/social tactics.
• Serve as a champion for emerging culture and an audience expert by collaborating with research and analytics teams to analyze cultural, technological, media and market trends and inform strategic development of content, partnerships and campaigns.
• Determine marketing KPIs, oversee strategy implementation, tracking, measurement, and debriefs and understand campaign results to find ways to optimize for future campaigns.
• Monitor new and upcoming multicultural capabilities, coordinate with Global Digital to inform the Global Marketing team and collaborate with both the Global Digital and Domestic Media teams on implementation of innovative digital campaign solutions.
• Help develop cultural advisement structure on marketing content, to ensure our marketing content is culturally accurate, authentic, inclusive, and devoid of stereotypes and tropes.
• Project manage a scalable content advisement framework across dept, partnering with disciplines and experts across the studio including the implementation of technology solutions to streamline the framework.
• Track budget and spend for bespoke multicultural marketing initiatives.
• Identify, hire and manage external marketing partners and agencies to implement select content marketing initiatives.
• Communicate campaign objectives and provide thought leadership to senior studio executives and key filmmaker partners, including in strategy meetings and fil mmaker presentations.

Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications
• 8+ years of marketing experience
• 3+ years of experience in or working with the entertainment industry
• Working knowledge of Microsoft-based software: Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States

• Strong communication skills are required to interface effectively with key senior executives and various external parties.
