Responsibilities
Role Purpose
The HR Director will act as a global business partner to managers and employees in Universal Brand Development (UBD) in Los Angeles. UBD is part of the broader Universal Parks & Resorts organization.

UBD is focused on building our NBCUniversal brands and franchises around the world in consumer products, games and digital, as well as franchise brand management.
Games, fashion, and toys only scratch the surface of ways UBD takes Universal stories and characters from the screen and put them into fans' daily lives around the globe. We take properties such as Jurassic World, Minions, Back to the Future, and Trolls from our creative content engines like Universal Pictures, Illumination, NBC and DreamWorks and partner with best-in-class category leaders (e.g. Mattel, Lego, Reebok, Target, Microsoft, etc.) to create amazing products for our fans.

Job Duties
• Partner with VP HR to develop and drive the global people strategy by developing and executing on various HR initiatives across UBD.
• Be a values and culture champion. Support the development of a culture that 'thinks global and acts local', as well as drives DE&I efforts ensuring a culture where every employee can thrive.
• Coach managers on leadership development to create an empowered workforce
• Provide timely and creative HR solutions to business issues.
• Provide coaching to employees & managers, offering feedback and advice on issues in a proactive and compassionate manner.
• Partner with leaders to identify development needs and build into development plan for the business.
• Manage the execution of annual HR processes across the UBD organization: Goal Setting, Compensation, and Performance Feedback, Talent Review, Talent Lab nominations and other training opportunities.
• Responsible for attraction, retention, development and organization design across UBD and broader Universal Parks & Resorts organization as necessary. Key responsibilities include overseeing recruitment, headcount and budget management.
• Partner with NBCU HR community to work collaboratively across HR matrix and wider HR agenda in a productive, team-oriented way.
• Manage performance, corrective action and integrity issues in collaboration with Legal and Labor Relations.

Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree.
• Minimum 10 years relevant HR experience, preferably as a manager, generalist or organizational design specialist.
• Flexibility with required schedule and travel demands.
• Experience with Excel, PowerPoint and overall Microsoft Office Suite.

Additional Job Requirements
• Must be willing to work in Universal City, CA.
• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.
• Must submit an attestation disclosing your COVID-19 vaccination status and, if partially or fully vaccinated, submitting your vaccination record no later than 7 days following commencement of employment.
• Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 at the commencement of employment or adhere to enhanced protocols if Company determines your job position requires accessing an NBCUniversal worksite.

Desired Characteristics
• Master's Degree preferred.

• Excellent leadership, problem solving, project management, and presentation skills required.
• Global orientation and ability to operate effectively across a matrixed structure.
• Experience in Consumer Product industry a plus.
• Ability to interface effectively with all levels of employees, managers and executives.
• Must be detail-oriented and organized, with excellent follow-through and analytical skills.
• Must have ability to execute both strategic and tactical priorities.
• Solid written and verbal communication skills a must, including the ability to interface with others inside and outside of the company in a positive and professional manner.
• Must be able to work independently, with the ability to juggle priorities and manage time to effectively meet deadlines.
• Ability to work in a diverse, and fast paced environment.
• Subject matter expertise on California and Federal employment practices, policies, legal & EEOC guidelines, as well as compensation, wage and hour, and CA benefits administration
• Sense of humor and 'can do' approach.
