Summary:

Universal Product & Experiences' Franchise Strategy team drives the global vision and strategic development and execution of franchise strategy and marketing plans to cultivate brand growth and drive revenue throughout the franchise ecosystem. The Director, Franchise Strategy is responsible for leading the growth and development of NBCUniversal properties into global franchises. Key functions include long term strategic planning for priority IP, ideation and execution of new business models, and creation of innovative marketing plans that maximize NBCU IP cross-company, ensure long-term success, and ultimately drive revenue and brand value for NBCUniversal. Reports directly to the SVP, Global Franchise Strategy.

Responsibilities include:

Franchise Strategy & Development
• Develop strategic global business plans for franchises and guide implementation to drive CP revenue and build brands.
• Partner with CP/Retail in bi-annual business planning considering lifecycle, revenue potential, portfolio fit and long-term proposition
• Partner with Film brand team to maximize initiatives across businesses
• Define brand portfolio strategy while working to identify new opportunities across key demographics and platforms
• Lead development of bridge content and digital/social strategies to manage lifecycle for franchise
• Serve as a thought leader to drive innovation with new models, unique partnership and first of its kind go to market strategies
• Oversee the analysis and tracking of relevant metrics to support business case modelling and scenarios
• Contribute to the advancement and actualization of UBD's diversity, equity, and inclusion commitments

Brand Stewardship
• Act as brand champion and ambassador for internal and external needs
• Connect key brand stakeholders and oversee cross-company activations, including bridge year campaigns
• Lead the creation of creative briefs to ideate authentic and merchandisable brand extensions and refreshes

Communication & Collaboration
• Ensure presentations and other communications are best in class and shared among all relevant parties and support clarity of message and alignment
• Responsible for leading franchise communication to and in support of regional teams: NA, Europe, Latin America and Asia/Pacific on brand vision, ideation and strategies

Professional Leadership
• Serve as a champion for best-in-class culture with an emphasis on collaboration, innovation and inclusion
• Lead the professional development of 2-3 direct reports through continuous training and coaching
• Manage direct reports full-cycle including but not limited to managing employee performance, concerns, engagement, performance reviews and goals

Qualifications

Qualifications/Requirements:
• 9+ years experience: CP or Franchise Management background preferred; Entertainment experience a plus
• Excellent strategic planning, analytics and brand development skills
• Experience in translating qualitative/quantitative data into insights that tell stories to a variety of audiences
• Ability to interact with senior leadership and key stakeholders
• Excellent written, verbal, listening and presentation skills
• Highly motivated, self-starting individual
• Highly adaptable to change in a continuously evolving environment

Salary range: $115,000 - $150,000 (bonus eligible)
