Responsibilities
Job Purpose
The Director, Corporate Communications and Marketing, will be an integral part of the corporate communication team, providing strategy and thought leadership for the fast-growing Universal Studio Group, which is comprised of Universal Television, UCP, Universal Television Alternative Studio and NBCUniversal International Studios. Reporting to the Head of Corporate Communications and Marketing, the executive will be responsible for managing breaking news as it relates to development, casting, production and executive announcements. They will be responsible for crafting written materials for press, internal communications, and marketing materials as well as provide copy editing for all department written materials. Writing and copy-writing assignments range from press releases, speeches, advertising/sales copy and creating PowerPoint presentations to overseeing content on a wide variety of digital platforms including social media and press and awards online websites.

Essential Responsibilities:
• Spearhead the external and internal communication writing, editing and messaging for Universal Studio Group including media relations, community affairs, executive thought-leadership and advertising/marketing materials
• Create and edit key communications materials including announcements, press releases, executive messaging, Q&A, speeches, program descriptions, articles and bios
• Develop and maintain relationships with the media, conducting ongoing outreach to secure positive coverage surrounding USG and its brands
• Manage breaking news inquiries
• Maintain key press lists, editorial calendars and festival/event calendars for the department
• Act as liaison between USG and other NBCU divisions regarding relevant internal and external events/opportunities, communication tactics and systems/processes that lead to synergies, thus benefitting the larger company
• Partner with teams across the USG division including marketing, research and programming to provide communications support and innovative strategies
• Work with each brand's executive leadership to create a voice and form guidelines for messaging to build well-defined, consistent communications in the marketplace
• Manage the corporate communications budget and serve as liaison with the finance team

Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
• Minimum 7 years of experience in communications or media relations (TV entertainment strongly preferred)
• Bachelor's Degree

Eligibility Requirements:
• Willingness to travel and work overtime, and on weekends with short notice
• Must be willing to work in Universal City, California
• Must have work authorization to work in the United States
• Must be covered by Solutions, NBCU's Alternative Dispute Resolution Program

• Ability to exercise a high level of discretion in handling confidential and sensitive information
• Must be a strong team player who can interface with talent and executives
• Ability to manage agencies and freelance staffers as necessary
