Responsibilities
Overview:

UPHE's Domestic Digital Distribution group is responsible for managing the studio's Film and TV transactional business (Electronic Sell-Through and Video-On-Demand), across all distribution platforms. The primary role of the Director of Digital Business Development & Strategy will be to negotiate and manage the commercial deals for existing and new distribution partners. In addition, the position will be responsible for helping drive overall commercial strategy and new business development initiatives. This position works in close partnership with the product, programming and marketing team to drive a coordinated account level go-to-market strategy.

Responsibilities:
• Negotiate and manage commercial deals for new and existing distribution partners, including cable, satellite, telco and digital platforms
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with key partners
• Support BD team on deal strategy/analytics related to new and existing customers, and distribution deal/structures
• Research, evaluate and provide strategic perspective on competitive landscape, new technologies, market trends, business models/opportunities (e.g., premium business models, windowing, pricing, partner platform development)
• Establish and cultivate collaborative cross-functional relationships with Legal, Account Management, Product, Marketing, Technology, and Finance teams to execute partnership requirements and deliver on business objectives

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
• 5+ years of experience working in business development, strategy, or content distribution.
• Proven ability to work independently, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize appropriately.
• Proven ability to think creatively and strategically while handling complex issues in a corporate setting.
• Detail-oriented with strong ability to review and understand written deal complexities.
• Strong public speaking skills and comfort presenting deal updates to senior management.
• Passion for new technologies and an ability to understand its impacts on existing businesses.
• Experience gathering and analyzing research, utilizing by internal and external industry sources.
