Universal Pictures Content Group is an independent mini- content creation & distribution studio within the infrastructure of Universal Filmed Entertainment Group and distribution footprint of NBCUniversal. With offices around the world and central headquarters in London, the Content Group discovers, acquires, produces, markets and distributes a diverse range of quality content across a multitude multiple genres (film, stand-up comedy, TV drama/sitcoms, music, sports, documentary, family entertainment, anime, Asian drama, events & special interest) for local and global audiences. It's multiplatform sales & distribution footprint includes theatrical, physical, digital (VOD & transactional), TV (Free & Pay) as well as running its own subscription and advertising on demand consumer channels. The business uniquely focuses on collaborating with talent on and off screen, brands and IP owners across all rights and across over their full lifecycle. It is a business that has been in existence for over 30 years and is driven by relationships, innovation and ambitious growth plans.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Business Executive role is an exciting opportunity to be part of the team delivering on the strategy to create self generated multi genre IP on both a local and global basis and incorporates development, production and commissioning roles. The role reports to the VP of A&R and Content partnerships but will also support areas of the team providing valuable business support.

Business Support
• Act as a business intelligence for the team including proposing deal structures, running financial analysis for each project, drafting offer letters and managing the internal board approval process
• Support team in their negotiations with talent, external content creators and IP owners
• Create comparables and help analyse data across all A&R, development & commissioning projects
• Create, update & maintain databases and trackers (financial and title trackers)
• Liaise with the various departments (at HQ as well as in various international territories) such as content strategy, marketing & PR, finance, legal, sales, operations
• Provide verbal and written updates on A&R, Development & Commissioning projects
• Gathering feedback and proactively resolving business issues on talent driven content and development titles
• Advise on financial incentive/soft money opportunities in each key market

ABOUT YOU
• A genuine passion to work with new content & talent
• Familiarity with varying standard industry agreements and how they work (e.g. book options, development and production agreements, work for hire, director's agreements etc.)
• Strong in Excel, Power Point, Word
• Extremely well organised and have great attention to detail
• Strong communication skills and a team player
• Have the ability and enthusiasm to support and work with content in all genres from Film, TV, Docs, Kids through to live shows and special interest
• Analytical mind set & commercial awareness
• Result oriented – deadline, achievement and works well under pressure
• Eager to learn and finds new challenges and opportunities exciting
• Independent and positive team building attitude – solution oriented
• Flexible: hours of work are determined by project/business needs
• The ability to build and maintain strong and lasting relationships to support and work with licensors & other third parties.
• Demonstrable knowledge and experience of multi-platform distribution of content
• Knowledge of incentives and soft monies available in the UK, USA, European countries
• Ability to engage with and influence third parties as well as internal stakeholders in the business (team, peers and senior leaders)
