Responsibilities
Role Purpose:
The Broadcast Operations Manager plans/manages the daily operation of the Stamford facility supplying the On-Air needs of our Productions and provides in-Studio Operations support for shows involving Multiple Complex Remote facilities usage.
Responsibilities:
• Track budget guidelines for projects, live shots, and related assignments
• Strategic transmission planning for remote shows.
• Act as the liaison with Media Outlets (such as CSN, 30 Rock, and other NBC affiliates or Independent Networks)
• Gathers sports news; disseminates information among all other production staff; advance planning for shows
• Reacts immediately to breaking news; serves as the primary sports newsgathering resource point person for coordinating producers, producers, talent bookers, and transmission
• Gathers story related materials (sound and video) on a timely basis
• Informed and up-to-date on sporting events and sports knowledge
• Ingest all digital and/or tape material for editing and browsing
• Schedule digital records of all guest cameras, stand-ups, and pre-taped shows and segments
• Perform technical QC of ingested elements
• Ability to operate routers, waveform monitors, and vector scopes
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Evaluation and resolution of technical issues as they occur.
• Evaluation of Standard Definition and High Definition transmission signals using in-house test equipment.
• Be able to perform all uplinks Standard Definition, High Definition, MPEG2 and MPEG4.
• High volume environment must be able to work under pressure.
• Perform routing on Evertz High Definition routing systems.
• Communicate with remote SNG vehicles and satellite TOCs.
• Communication with in-house staff on feed status.
• Maintain all required logs and fill out all required feed information in Schedule link system.
• Operate and maintain the Teleport facilities.
• Operate the Crystal Facilities Control System.
Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
• College degree in communications /television production or related field, and/or equivalent
experience
• Minimum five (5) years' experience in TV production / operations or a related field
• Knowledge of transmission systems and formats
• Knowledge and experience with tape formats(P2, DVCPro, HD-CAM, XD Cam) ingest devices
(Airspeed, Media Grid) and File transfer functions
• Excellent computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
Eligibility Requirements:
• Must be willing to work in Stamford, CT
• Must be flexible for late or last-minute scheduling changes
• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
• Must be 18 years or older

Desired Characteristics:
• At least three (3) years' experience with Ingest and/or Master Control live broadcast environment.
• Must be a team player, with the ability to also work independently, with little supervision
• Must be available for all shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Must have the ability to work in fast paced, high pressure environment under extreme deadline pressure
• Knowledge of newsroom systems such as INews a plus
• Basic knowledge working knowledge of available vendor facilities
• Knowledge of ScheduALL scheduling system.
