Responsibilities
OVERVIEW OF ROLE

The London News Bureau plays a key role in providing the coverage of international news and in supporting overseas field operations. This is a busy environment covering stories 24/7 and therefore a flexible approach, a sense of humour and an interest in technology are essential.
Our Media Technology Maintenance Engineers are experienced people with experience of working with a demanding customer base in a busy broadcast news environment. We work on quick turnaround news packages to tight deadlines. You will demonstrate your technical ability and the eye for detail when aiding the editorial team to output the best possible content in line with NBC News production values.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide top-layer Maintenance & Support to our Avid systems, in a 24/7 busy newsroom environment.
• Track issues through to resolution, whilst communicating with both engineering management and operational production clients.
• Interface with vendors and manufacturers to research and address support issues and create bug reports.
• Provide product and support training also develop documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
• A Degree, qualification or certification in Broadcast Engineering, BSc (Hons) Broadcast Engineering, Computer Science, or System Integration, or relevant technical disciplines and from an accredited technical training institution.

DESIRED CHARACTERISTICS:
• Practical knowledge with Networking, domains, group policies and AD structures.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for both software and hardware.
• Practical Knowledge of UDP acceleration protocols and troubleshooting.
• Practical experience of network and OS security.
• Knowledge of Adobe Products (Photoshop, After Effects, Premiere).
• Understand Networking, Routing and basic troubleshooting of a Network.
• Understand Windows Server OS, Office 365 and Apple OS.
