Assistant Partnerships Editor, Shop TODAY (PEP)

Responsibilities

TODAY Digital, the multiplatform arm of America's favorite morning show, is looking for a temporary Assistant Partnerships Editor to produce content for our shoppable recipes program.

The temporary Assistant Partnerships Editor will be responsible for supporting our Branded Commerce Editor and Recipe Editor. The main responsibilities will include writing SEO-friendly recipe packages and intros, helping with strategic content promotion and tracking deliverables. The ideal candidate will have a mix of organizational, editorial and analytical skills and an interest in family-friendly recipes and home cooking trends.

This is a 13-month position beginning September 2022 and ending October 2023. Candidates must be available to work 40 hours per week. This is a hybrid position (in person in our New York City office Tuesdays-Thursdays with the option to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays).

Responsibilities:
• Write SEO-friendly recipe intros and packages, including our weekly ''What to Cook This Week'' series
• Help organize and manage an existing database of shoppable recipes
• Recommend and execute recipe refreshes based on seasonality and SEO insights
• Assist editors with strategic content promotion, such as securing newsletter placements, writing copy for SMS alerts and producing social posts
• Assist in managing a project-specific content calendar and track project deliverables
• Work with art team on assets for digital articles and social posts
• Support the commerce team with additional tasks and projects as needed

Qualifications
• 1-2 years of professional writing experience at a digital publisher in the food/lifestyle space
• Understanding of CMS and editorial workflow
• Some editorial and project management experience
• Highly organized, detail-oriented self-starter with the ability to multitask
• Excellent verbal/written communication skills and knowledge of AP style
• Strong editorial judgment and sense of the TODAY voice and audience
• Interest in food and commerce media that will resonate with TODAY readers
