Responsibilities
NBC Universal's Owned & Operated, general market, Television stations in the San Antonio area, KVDA TV, has a rare opportunity for a detailed oriented, multi-skilled, full-time APC Operator/Editor within our production department.
• Primary job responsibilities include coding and technical execution of local news and programming utilizing the Ross Overdrive Automated Production Control environment.
• Direction of talent and other production crew members
• Graphic and clip playback server operation
• Automated audio set-up and operation
• Robotic camera control system operation
• Responsible for the ultimate technical quality of productions.
• Advising managers and engineers of system irregularities and trouble-shooting irregularities.
• Video editing of Vos, SOTs, Cold Opens, and PKGs
• Routing and verifying remote feeds
• Ensure all ingested content has been correctly and accurately processed, this will include checking the technical and visual quality of the Breves ingested asset, accurate entry of metadata and tracking of material IDs.
• Additional duties as needed/assigned

• Bi-lingual English/Spanish oral proficiency.
• Minimum 1-year solid, local news TD/ Directing experience with Ross Overdrive Production Automation, or similar.
• Experience with advanced production switcher operation and setup, manual and automated graphics play out, robotic camera operation and playback server operations.
• Experience with editing programs Stratus/Edius and with iNews, or similar
• Strong knowledge and understanding of broadcast and production technology.
• Ability to effectively multi-task in a dynamic environment.
• Team player committed to working in a quality environment.

• Must be willing to work at the production center in San Antonio, Texas.
• Must be 18 years or greater.
• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.
• Must have a valid driver's license (if applicable).

• Strong operational knowledge of HD video, file based workflows, ingest, QC and archiving of tape and file based programs.
• Strong knowledge of electronic program delivery of program material, and related operational
concerns.
• Strong analytical skills.

• Advising managers and engineers of system irregularities and trouble-shooting irregularities.
• Strong knowledge of file formats i.e. MXF Op1A, Apple Pro-Res, 4k, H264, & AFF.
• Knowledge of quality compliance for broadcast standards.
• Knowledge of Closed Captioning.
• Must have the ability to work accurately under pressure and deadlines.
• Must exhibit strong leadership skills.
• Self-motivated, highly creative.
