Responsibilities

Role Purpose:
The Senior Financial Analyst participates in the day-to-day operations of the Sports FP&A team and will assist in a wide range of accounting, finance and consolidation matters for the Sports Group. It is a key position on the NBC Sports Group FP&A team. This role will support the group in all financial aspects, with a focus on internal expenses. The role interfaces with multiple operators and teams internally within the Sports Group as well as within NBCU. This position is an integral part of the team and reports into the Manager of FP&A.

Responsibilities:
• Key contributor to the quarter close process including posting close journal entries, monitoring and validating balances, preparing account reconciliations and investigating variances to prior period
• Support the Sports operational finance team in all aspects of planning processes, budgeting, and monthly pacing, including analyzing key metrics and overall trends
• Support operations with Accounts Payable, Sourcing, and Vendor processes
• Partner and communicate regularly with internal Sports departments to develop and adhere to annual budgets and forecasting processes
• Assist in planning the close timeline, including coordinating with the various operators and departments
• Prepare NBCU Corporate data request submissions, gathering and consolidating information from various sources
• Participate in ad hoc projects and industry analysis, as necessary

Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related field
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in Finance or Accounting

• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Excellent excel skills
• Financial reporting experience
• Ability to work in rapidly changing environment
• Experience in using budget/planning systems a plus
