FUNCTION

The Senior QA Engineer will work within a team responsible for testing our web based products, REST based APIs, Mobile iOS and Android products and Microservices. The team work with defined test strategies, automated testing frameworks, the wider technology team and other stakeholders within the company.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Senior QA Engineer will contribute to a multi-disciplinary team that is responsible for new development, feature additions, maintenance and support of the BRS Golf platform, services & integrations by:
• Designing, writing and executing automated tests for our web, mobile and api platforms
• Designing, writing and executing tests for both functional and non-functional requirements
• Contributing to continuous development and integration pipelines
• Participating in planning, communication and retrospective meetings where needed
• Documenting analysis, test strategy, test execution and test results
• Involvement in root cause analysis and track defect resolution to completion
• Ensuring products and features are tested to a high standard to ensure quality standards are met prior to release
• Working within agile processes related to the QA Team and feeding back any potential opportunities to improve the way we work
• Identification of risks with timely escalation
• Planning and coordinating regular product releases

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

It is essential that candidates have:
• Extensive QA experience.
• A good understanding of Internet technologies, software design, databases, web servers, security, APIs and technical debt
• Previous hands on experience with QA methodologies and coding experience within a commercial environment
• Experience of both manual and automated testing strategies
• Candidates must also be able to demonstrate:
• Familiarity with best practice agile delivery principles & supporting processes
• Be highly organised, self-motivated with a proactive and enthusiastic attitude
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills with attention to detail

ADDTIONAL SKILLS & DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE
• BSc in Computer Science, Engineering, Business or equivalent experience
• Hands on experience of Automation Testing Frameworks e.g. Appium, Robot
• Coding experience with at least one language e.g. Python
• Experience of Security and Performance testing
• An understanding of or experience within the Golf/Leisure industry
