Responsibilities

This position is part of the Decision Science team under the Digital and Sports Consumer Businesses at NBC Sports & Fandango. This role is under Fandango, the largest movie ticketing platform, offering best-in-class movie and TV information, ticketing, trailers and original video, and home entertainment.

The primary focus of the role is to lead the development and improvement effort to Fandango marketing data product. At Fandango, we love movies, and we'd like to create innovative products that bring the best experiences for our fans and business partners. In this role, you will work with a team of data scientists to deliver projects that leverage science and big data to create innovative marketing and personalization products. We expect the Manager in this role to versatile, display leadership qualities and enthusiastic about taking on new problems across our business as we continue to build great experiences for fellow movie fans.

Job Duties:
• Evaluate and improve advanced predictive and machines learning models; including propensity and churn models, look-a-like modeling of individuals across known, identified, and anonymous audiences.
• Optimize customer segmentation on a large scale using advanced scoring and classification techniques, e.g., Factorization Machines (FM) and Field Aware Factorization Machines (FFM).
• Aggregate large data sets in preparation for modeling from different data sources; including transactional, movie meta data and customer demographic and behavioral metrics and apply screening methods such as feature selection and dimensionality reduction to pick top features to the model.
• Troubleshoot issues and anomalies from existing models, explain and/or refine models to reduce anomalies.
• Analyze and extract relevant information about customer behaviors and preferences from both structured and unstructured data to better understand marketing opportunities, inform, and inspire internal & external stakeholders to make better business decisions.
• Collaborate with colleagues in marketing operations and IT to infuse predictive analytics into customer purchasing behavior, driving increased relevance and business performance.

Qualifications
• 5-8 years' prior hands-on experience in Marketing science; programming with statistical modeling tools to fuel and deliver audience segmentation, marketing personalization and business insights.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in SQL or Transact SQL querying language
• Advanced skills in Python, R
• Intellectual curiosity, along with excellent problem-solving and quantitative skills, including the ability to dis aggregate issues, identify root causes and recommend solutions
• Strong experience in manipulating and mining data to transform business decisions that impact the bottom line.
