Freelance Desk Editor, Golf Digital - Remote

Responsibilities

PLEASE NOTE: This is a project / limited term position with an estimated duration of 12 months, unless otherwise amended or terminated as deliverables within this project are completed.
• Work five days, 40 hours a week, including nights and weekends
• Editing copy from writers and being able to both correct mistakes and offers suggestions to make copy better
• Writing both original and aggregate copy based on the happenings in the golf world
• Working within our Content Management System (knowledge of Drupal CMS a plus)
• Creating engaging headlines for written and video copy
• Communicating both intra- and inter-departmentally, including the Golf Channel TV side, NBC Sports video team and social media teams
• Working within a small group and independently with minimal oversight
• Sending content out on social media platforms such as Twitter

Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications
• Efficient in AP Style guidelines for writing and editing
• Knowledge of all major professional golf tours (PGA Tour, LPGA Tour, DP World Tour, Korn Ferry Tour, PGA Tour Champions) as well as amateur golf
• Knowledge of social media platforms
• Ability to work on deadline
