Job Description

Responsibilities
The NBC News digital politics team is seeking an enterprising reporter to cover the White House and its offices, people, politics and policies.

This reporter should have experience building sources and experience breaking news and producing stand-out journalism in a competitive environment, with the work to prove it - and be eager to take on one of the toughest and most exciting beats in Washington. The ideal candidate writes clearly and with nuance to make sense of what's happening in the executive branch for our audience.

Candidates should possess a competitive spirit, should hate being beat, and have years of experience covering national politics, policy and the federal government.

This job is based in Washington, and will involve collaboration across many teams at NBC News. Women and diverse candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.

Qualifications/Requirements
Job requirements
• At least five years experience covering national politics,

with at least two years experience on the White House

beat
• Strong journalistic writing skills, research skills and

editorial judgment
• Deep knowledge of US politics
• A demonstrated track record of producing original,

exclusive journalism on a politics beat
