Job Description
Responsibilities
• The Senior Financial Analyst, NBC News will have operational finance responsibilities, focusing primarily on live show cost management. Key responsibilities include pacing & monthly close, mixed with operational support which will vary based on the news cycle and current projects and priorities. This role reports into the Senior Manager, Broadcast News.
• Support the preparation, analysis and reporting for operational expenses, including Compensation and Benefits, across forecasts, budgets, actuals and pacing for Today Show and Nightly News.
• Identify risks and opportunities and partner with operators to support the business.
• Own operational and technical resource reporting, such as crew, studio and control room labor resources, for Today Show and Nightly News monitoring trends on a weekly and monthly basis.
• Assist with monthly closing process by preparing journal entries, variance analysis, and financial reporting.
• Lead monthly reporting by building dashboards and other ad-hoc reporting for management; expected to communicate results and metrics in a timely manner.
• Participate and occasionally lead, special projects for Today Show and Nightly News
• Manage headcount reporting and work closely with HR
• Provide monthly T&E Reports and monitor spend for each broadcast production unit

Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
• 2+ years of relevant experience.
• Excellent computer and analytical skills, particularly in Excel and PowerPoint.
• Proficient use of SAP/Business Warehouse/BPC or similar accounting software.
• Must be willing to work in New York City.
• Must be willing and able to work flexible hours, under tight deadline pressure, including breaking news.
