About Us
NBC News Digital's engineering team builds and sustains applications across Smart TV and OTT platforms. Our goals are centered around ubiquity (being on all major video platforms) and consistency (making sure the user has a great NBC News video experience across devices and contexts).
About the Role
As the Engineering Manager, You Will:
• Foster a growing team to support video playback of livestream, video on-demand, and authenticated video across OTT, mobile and connected TV clients
• Work with internal and 3rd party video engineering teams to troubleshoot video issues and align on end-to-end strategic priorities for video
• Provide high-level architectural direction to your team to sustain engineering and operational excellence
• Make data-driven decisions and set measurable goals, consistently balancing product requirements with engineering realities

Qualifications/Requirements
Required Qualifications

You Have:
• 2+ years of engineering management experience OR 3+

years of senior engineering leadership
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with both

internal and external stakeholders
• Experience building and running video products at

enterprise scale
- Must submit an attestation disclosing your COVID-19

vaccination status and, if partially or fully vaccinated,

submitting your vaccination record no later than 7 days

following commencement of employment.
- Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 at the

commencement of employment or must undergo regular

COVID-19 testing if Company determines your job

position requires accessing an NBCUniversal worksite.
- Must be willing to adhere to all Company COVID-19

workplace safety policies and protocols.

Desired Characteristics

Preferred Qualities
• Experience building or integrating and video SDKs for

apps and connected TV platforms
• Experience building hybrid web/native experiences for

video products
• Track record of successfully building, leading, and

coaching highly productive and inclusive teams.
• Experience with live video systems
• Experience scaling technologies to multiple

brands/customers
