This is an opportunity to play a critical role in the digital evolution of NBC News, one of the world's best known and most trusted news organizations. We are looking for a Sr. Business Intelligence Analyst for the Business Intelligence team, part of NBC News Digital Technology.

This position reports to the head of Business Intelligence.

Responsibilities

In this role you will help develop our data exploration platform, enabling users throughout our business. This development includes working with end users to understand their needs, partnering with our Data Engineering team to land the appropriate data in our data lake, using PySpark to model raw data into analytics-friendly objects, and enabling our end users through development in Looker. The main languages you will use in this role are PySpark, SQL (multiple dialects), and LookML.

In this role, you will have opportunities to work on high-impact projects that span our broader organization. This has included analysis of our content, content placement, concurrent viewers of our digital news broadcast in real time, and more.

In this role, you will actively work to strengthen the entire team, which will include the mentorship and coaching of junior team members.

• 1+ year of experience with cloud-based analytics
• 2+ years of experience in data analytics
• Intermediate to expert level in SQL (any dialect)
• Intermediate data manipulation in Python or PySpark
• Some experience with semi-structured data
