Producer, Race Equality & Justice Unit

Job Description

Responsibilities:
• Assist in the execution of the editorial vision and process of Race, Equality and Justice storytelling, including day-of-air segments, original feature stories and long-form enterprise series for NBC News Group platforms
• Work with the unit to assist with the shooting, writing and producing live and taped segments; assisting with the coordination of special events, and contributing to digital reports and content
• Collaborate with broadcast and digital reporters, producers and correspondents on editorial agenda and logistics for segments
• Maintain valuable relationships with top experts and government agencies
• Supervise and copy edit producers' scripts

Qualifications/Requirements
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• Minimum 5 years of expanding editorial experience
• Prior experience in reporting and/or coverage of Race,

Equality and Justice
• Experience developing stories from start to finish – from

pitch through delivery
• Understanding of story arc and how to build characters

Eligibility Requirements:
• Must be willing to work in New York, New York
• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the

United States
• Must be able to work weekends, holidays and/or varying

days when necessary to meet production and broadcast

deadlines
