Responsibilities
• Looking for someone with strong field, feature and crash producing skills for NBC News LA Bureau.
• Must be able to write for air & work under demanding deadlines
• Someone who is a team player & Self starter, who can multi-task in a fast paced environment & effectively prioritize assignments
• Social Media savy
• Will have close collaboration and effective communication with managers, correspondents, senior producer, producers, assignment desk, camera crews, editors and social news gathering team
• Pitch stories ideas and content for platforms & shows
• Must have a full scope and understanding of news production, editing, field shoots
• Impeccable news judgement & integrity
• Working knowledge of technical aspects of broadcast & digital production
• Proficient in finding & tracking UGC

Qualifications/Requirements
-5 years editorial production experience at a national news organization
-Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience
-Must submit reel/portfolio of broadcast & digital work
-Must be willing & able to work flexible hours, under tight deadline pressure, including breaking news
-Must be willing to travel & work overtime

Desired Characteristics
-Bilingual with Spanish fluency strongly preferred
-Strong news judgment, work ethic & engagement
-Knowledge of non-linear editing systems including Avid & live programming
-Demonstrated strong knowledge & interest in news & current events
-Strong interpersonal & communication skills
-Solid working knowledge of newsroom systems & satellite operations is critical
-Calm demeanor with problem solving skills
-Must be able to make decisions when needed
