Job Description

Responsibilities
• Curate the NBC News' owned and social platforms with a lively mix of breaking news, politics, enterprise reporting and video
• Maintain overnight planning and handover notes, ensuring a smooth transition between Los Angeles and London and ultimately New York the next day
• Write headlines, social copy and breaking news alerts
• Distribute content to partners such as Apple News, Yahoo, Flipboard and Smartnews
• Monitor real-time analytics to inform story curation and distribution strategy
• Partner with editors from sections around the newsroom to ensure their stories are promoted and distributed in all the right places
• Work with the photo team to illustrate stories on desktop and app

Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent and comparable work experience
• 6+ years' experience working in a digital newsroom, with experience working on owned or social platforms
• A broad knowledge of current affairs, including the latest in politics, race, social justice, international affairs, pop culture and sports
• Must be comfortable collaborating in a creative but demanding environment under tight deadlines
• Must submit an attestation disclosing your COVID-19 vaccination status and, if partially or fully vaccinated, submitting your vaccination record no later than 7 days following commencement of employment.
