The Position
Reporting to the Head of Growth and Operations, the Director, Growth Initiatives will be responsible for managing and planning key growth initiatives. Duties include project management, business analysis, and core operations. The role will partner with editorial, product, technology, research, business development and finance to build and grow products. Key initiatives include mobile apps, D2C initiatives for our brand fans, and growing NBC News Digital products across platforms.
Responsibilities:
• Execute and project manage new growth initiatives by coordinating and leading cross functional teams to build and grow our products, hitting timelines and goals
• Lead ideation and execution on new mobile initiative via informing and coordinating the build, content, partners, distribution and monetization
• Work hand-in-hand with product and research, understanding, prioritizing and building product features to best serve consumers
• Work closely with audience development to maximize audience growth and retention
• Conduct strategic market analysis to understand market trends and inform which initiatives to pursue
• Develop business models and strategic plans, working closely with finance and News Digital leadership
• Act as a key member of the team to achieve overall audience and revenue goals
Qualifications/Requirements
The Person
Basic Requirements:
• Minimum of 7 years in digital media
• Demonstrated track record of success in building digital
products and/or revenue operations

• Proven digital market knowledge, in particular
experience with mobile apps and/or D2C products
• GM mentality and well-rounded skill set flexing between
operations and business
• Proven ability to manage multiple initiatives balancing
daily deliverables and long-term strategic gains

operationally
• Business and strategic acumen, including financial
models and presentations
• Ability to see the forest for the trees in decision making;
ability to present complex information simply
• Effortless collaborator and expert communicator who can

• Able to generate and execute on creative ideas to drive
revenue and audience
• Quick study who can flex approach with comfort and
ease
• MBA preferred
