Responsibilities

We are seeking a Coordinating Producer to work across platforms within the NBC News Group. This Coordinating Producer will be responsible for pitching and collaborating directly with Talent, Executive Producers, Writers and Editors, across a variety of disciplines, to bring compelling stories to air. You will also be expected to accept assignments across all platforms, from breaking news to feature stories to longform documentaries, and act on them quickly.

Responsibilities:
• Engage across all NBC News platforms, including NBC

News digital and television brands, handling multiple

stories while meeting tight deadlines
• Produce original news content, including research,

conducting interviews, writing and editing scripts, field

producing and shooting, and overseeing editing
• Collaborate, and cultivate relationships, to develop

enterprise story ideas
• Work with relevant Digital/Show teams to ensure timely

and accurate reporting
• Ensure editorial standards for all segments in

partnership with Editors and the Standards & Legal Team
• Help coordinate productions and locations as needed in

studio and in the field

Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
• Must have a Bachelor's degree in Communications,

Journalism, or equivalent experience
• Must have at least 7 years' editorial experience working

in production at the network level, preferably within news

broadcasting
• Must have prior experience covering both domestic and

international large-scale stories
• Must be bilingual in English and Spanish, both written

and oral
• Must have experience producing and writing for

documentary style content
• Must have experience handling high-profile interviews in

both private and public sectors
• Must be able to shoot and edit
• Must have strong journalistic writing skills, research

skills, and editorial judgment
• Must be willing to work overtime, nights, holidays, and

weekends, often with short notice
• Must be willing to travel as needed
• Must be willing to work in New York City

Desired Characteristics

Desired Qualifications:
• Preferred candidate would have an advanced degree in

Broadcast or Journalism
• Experience in Final Cut Pro and full Adobe Suite

preferred
• Demonstrated strong knowledge and interest in news

and current events
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Strong storytelling ability
• Knowledge of NBC News Policies and Guidelines and

Practices
• Familiarity with social media
• Self-starter
