Responsibilities
Role Summary/Purpose:
The Business, Technology, and Innovation Unit at NBC News is looking for an experienced business and innovation producer who can work with business and technology correspondents and reporters to pitch, develop, and produce business and consumer news of day pieces for key NBC News platforms including The TODAY Show, Nightly News with Lester Holt, and both MSNBC and NBC News Now. The ideal candidate is an ambitious producer with prior network TV news and field experience, and a passion for storytelling about how people experience the economy in their everyday lives.

Job Duties:
• Producer will work closely with NBC News Senior Business Correspondent to coordinate editorial priorities
• This position requires an experienced producer who has a passion for business and technology and media news
• Produce original news content, primarily for broadcast, including research, conducting interviews, writing and editing scripts, field producing and shooting, and overseeing editing.
• Work with business and technology correspondents and reporters to break stories and produce and report them out with accuracy and skill under deadline pressure
• Producer is expected to both pitch story ideas and work on assigned stories developed by the editorial team
• Work with Standards & Legal Team to ensure Editorial Standards of all pieces produced
• Producer will work closely with NBC News business and technology correspondents and reporters to coordinate and execute editorial priorities

Qualifications/Requirements
• Must have at least 8 years' editorial experience working in production at the network level, preferably within news broadcasting
• Must be able to shoot and edit video on deadline
• Must have strong journalistic writing skills, research skills, and editorial judgment
• Must be willing to work overtime, nights, holidays, and weekends, often with short notice
• Must be willing to work in NYC
• Must submit an attestation disclosing your COVID-19 vaccination status and, if partially or fully vaccinated, submitting your vaccination record no later than 7 days following commencement of employment.
• Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 at the commencement of employment or adhere to enhanced protocols if Company determines your job position requires accessing an NBCUniversal worksite.
• Must be willing to adhere to all Company COVID-19 workplace safety policies and protocols.
