Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Key team member of MSNBC finance team with ownership and execution of FP&A, Accounting and select Operational Finance duties for the MSNBC brand.
• Lead process to update monthly, quarterly and ad hoc reporting of MSNBC's financial results.
• Partner with the Director, MSNBC Finance to consolidate overall brand submissions with a focus on highlighting key variances, risks and opportunities and submit to SVP and Sr. Director of News Group FP&A.
• Own the preparation and consolidation of MSNBC's monthly headcount forecasting process requested by the Corporate HQ FP&A team, working closely with HR and Finance team members to drive accurate reporting.
• Analyze and investigate variances on an ongoing basis with the goal of developing a deep understanding of production related costs and providing key insights to management.
• Lead the monthly and quarterly close processes on select production related expenses, including accurate forecasting, journal entry preparation, variance analysis and balance sheet account reconciliations.
• Develop and maintain financial dashboards for MSNBC's production and contributor costs with actionable insights and recommendations that drive business decisions.
• Assist in the development and preparation of MSNBC's annual Budget, Estimate cycles and Long Range Plan.
• Demonstrate an ongoing passion for process improvement, proposing strategies that drive efficiencies and bottom-line results.

Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or Economics or equivalent work experience
• Minimum of 3+ years of relevant Finance experience
• Advanced Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookup, etc.) skills and strong PowerPoint skills
• Must be willing to adhere to all Company COVID-19 workplace safety policies and protocols.
