Responsibilities
The role of the Public Relations Assistant is to provide administrative support to the MSNBC Communications team.
Essential Responsibilities:
• Continuous search of online databases, newspapers, magazines and social media for all press clippings related to NBC News and its competition each day
• Handle daily coverage reports, which get distributed internally
• Administrative duties, including answering the phones
• Coordinate department affairs
• Assist department on research projects, and other assigned projects
• Manage department inbox and voicemail service, forwarding press requests to the appropriate contact
• Assist with media announcements and major events, as well as breaking news
Qualifications/Requirements
• Must have a bachelor's degree from an accredited
university
• Must have at least 1 year experience interning in
communications or public relations
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and have basic
computer skills
• Must be well versed in social media and online
technology
