Job Description
Responsibilities
MSNBC Digital is looking for a platforms editor to join its team in New York City. The editor will play a key role in launching MSNBC's coverage each morning, from sending the MSNBC Daily newsletter to updating the homepage, social channels and sending mobile and desktop alerts.

The ideal candidate will be a talented headline writer who can identify the hook into a story and can write for different platforms - whether that's a homepage, Facebook or Twitter. The position requires a strong interest in politics and culture, and an understanding of MSNBC's voice and on-air programing. An understanding of SEO best practices and experience using real-time analytics and A/B testing is preferred but not essential.

The position requires the ability to make decisions under pressure and to change footing quickly and multitask when news breaks. Candidates should be comfortable working in a hybrid WFH environment and juggling the large volume of comms that come with Slack, email and Teams meetings. Excellent communication skills are a must.

The position is full time, 6a-2p ET Mon-Fri, and based in New York City. This position is represented by the NewsGuild-CWA.
