Responsibilities
The Marketing Manager will develop and deploy strategies to drive the MSNBC brand and support MSNBC content touchpoints. You will work closely with the MSNBC Brand Marketing team, broader NBC News Marketing department, and Peacock-NBCUniversal's streaming platform, featuring news, entertainment and original content. In this role you will:
• Serve as marketing thought leader and point person for The Choice from MSNBC streaming channel and associated shows and talent
• Manage multi-platform promotion across MSNBC and Peacock media
• Work in lockstep with Peacock stakeholders to optimize visibility for The Choice from MSNBC on- and off-platform and drive consumption
• Demonstrate expertise in streaming space and passion to learn and grow with the medium
You will lead marketing for a portfolio of MSNBC Perspective & Analysis shows by:
• Being a voracious consumer of MSNBC content and proactively identifying content for promotional use
• Managing marketing needs, including topical promotion
• Spearheading marketing for podcast extensions associated with portfolio of shows/talent
Across entire portfolio, the Marketing Manager will:
• Strategize innovative and non-traditional ways to market MSNBC to fuel audience growth and brand affinity; focus on gaining and retaining younger, diverse audiences
• Lead development of strategic positioning, briefs, creative assets and campaigns
• Work closely with Creative and Media teams to bring creative to life in a smart, timely fashion across owned and third-party media
• Collaborate with partner teams including shows/editorial, digital, social, PR, programming and sales
• Ideate and execute content extensions across various media (social, audio, digital)
• Develop intimate knowledge of all of MSNBC's non-linear content extensions, associated consumption behaviors, measurement tools, and emerging media trends
• Make strategic recommendations based on frequent, in-depth assessments of competitive programming and audience trends
• Contribute to MSNBC's brand-level communications
Qualifications/Requirements
-4+ years marketing experience at an agency or media company
-Must have a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
-Must be willing to work in New York, NY
-Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
-Project management experience
-Experience working with talent
