Responsibilities
MSNBC is looking for a Booking Associate Producer for Morning Joe.

This position is represented by the Writers Guild of America East.

Responsibilities:
• Pitch guests (including reporters, panelists, and newsmakers) and segment ideas for the daily broadcast.
• Make booking calls and send booking emails.
• Take part in editorial planning calls.
• Assist the show bookers with logistics for guests, including cars, studios, and transmission notes.
• Help gather editorial information for guests, and video and graphic elements for the segment. Compile a handover note to the segment producers of those materials.
• Conduct pre-interviews with guests as needed.
• Help in the planning of any special broadcasts, including road shows.

Qualifications/Requirements
• Must have a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 2 years of experience in some form of journalism

required (i.e. cable or network news, website,

newspaper).
• Strong knowledge of American politics, American history

and global news.
• Strong research skills.

Additional Job Requirements:
• Must be willing to work in New York, NY.
• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the

United States.
• Must be willing and able to work flexible hours, under

tight deadline pressure, including breaking news.

• Possess ability to develop story ideas and pitch guest

bookings
• Ability to recognize stories with high potential for

provocative, compelling television.
• Knowledge of current events, politics and pop culture.
• Wide-range reader of news, including op-eds.
• Candidate should be able to deal with daily deadline

pressure.
