Job Description
We are now seeking an experienced and highly motivated Production Trainer to join the global organization and help support the ongoing operation and growth of the Production department.

The MPC Production Training function is the learning and development team that develops up and coming Production staff ready to step into an exciting career in VFX, as well as upskilling new and experienced members of staff at all levels to support their development and progression.

Key to this role is to be an excellent learner and to be able to take complex information and make it simple and easy to understand, using a variety of educational techniques. Candidates should have a love of teaching and learning and great enthusiasm for visual effects, show deliveries, and the craft of Production.

The following tasks provide a general overview of the types of activity the role holder will be expected to engage in on a day-to-day basis. The tasks are not intended to be an exhaustive list of responsibilities as the nature of our business requires all employees to be flexible, self-motivated and to think creatively when presented with challenges
• Present lectures on technical and people skills topics in an open, upbeat, engaging manner.
• Guide, challenge, and coach students (Production Assistants, Coordinators, Production Managers, Producers) in creating quality work.
• Learn and utilize L&D platforms and processes.
• Communicate effectively and proactively with other departments and the wider Production team.
• Run demo Production meetings, dailies, and provide feedback on how these are being managed.
• Assess student performance, work with them to improve, and provide feedback about their competence to the Central Production Teams.
• Complete student skills matrix weekly.
• Review student and studio feedback and make recommendations for improvement.
• Create and edit video tutorials with an emphasis on brevity, clarity and zero errors.
• Work with partners in departments to coach and support them in the creation of educational materials – such as tutorials, documentation, and project files.
• Ongoing development of the curriculum to effectively meet the needs of students and production.
• Contribute to production training needs including onboarding new hires and supporting Central Production Teams with building, maintaining, and delivering Production Pathways content.
• Pilot and test different learning resources as required.
• Support the implementation of a Learning Management System (LMS) to track and assign training.
• Define and track training Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the effectiveness of training, and drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Essentials:
• Is an expert in their field with a deep level of relevant production experience
• Is an excellent communicator, both written and verbal.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Can work independently within an organization to get information proactively.
• Previous experience as a trainer is highly desirable, but applicants with a genuine interest in moving into training will be considered.
• Fluency in English (written and verbal).

Any of the following technical skills are Highly Desired:
• Expertise in the use of Autodesk ShotGrid (ShotGun) is highly desired.
• Proficiency with the Microsoft Office 365 package, particularly PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint, Word, Teams.
