Job Description

The Central Production Manager is responsible for the people management of the Production crew within the facility. The CPM will drive the learning development and effective training of their team.

Primary Responsibilities -

Team Management

Directly manage the Production Managers, Senior Production Coordinators, Production Coordinators and Production Assistants including contract extensions, performance management a probation reviews. Approve and track all Production timesheets including overtime where required. In partnership with the Head of L&D, Global HOP, all HOPs and all CPMs, review and update Production training programs and assign and evaluate GEM audiences. Run Production schools in line with the globally aligned training program; run training sessions on MPC structure, Pipeline, Production Tools, Dailies, MPC Culture and Values, and a generic introduction into other departments e.g. HR, Finance etc. In partnership with the HOP, gain approval for offers and exceptions before sending out to new starters. For Direct Reports, meet new starters on their first day and set them up for the job; manage the new starter process for the entire Production team. Participate in meetings and dailies to ensure consistency and good performance across all Direct Reports.

Production Department Management

In partnership with the HOP, plan and structure the Production Teams for new and existing shows with the consideration of the approved headcount and budget. Create procedures and documentation for Production; work with the team to ensure that MPC Production procedures are followed and standards are met. Using proficiencies in Production Tools support and train the Production Team; answer any questions and ensure best practices are known and understood.

Quota Management

In partnership with Direct Reports and HOP, support the issue escalation and resolution process. Support the Production Team to ensure that quotas are met on time and within budget; monitor the DQRs from a facility perspective. Analyze show schedules and provide recommendations to improve efficiencies.
• Understanding the overall department requirements in terms of artists for over a period of minimum 3 months and a general view for over 6 months.
• Overall Quota Management for the department
• Ensure Bids versus Actuals are managed for the department.
• Look at show Ones emails from producers to understand plan for department for the next 12 weeks and plan resources accordingly.
• Catch up with producers and understand turnover & delivery schedules.
• Catch up with the production team every day to understand concerns/plan of action, advice if needed.
• Meet up with the SMT once a week, highlight concerns and suggest possible solutions.
• Discuss resource skill set requirements for all shows and determine priority.
• Split of scope of work overall.
• Predict possible trainings required.
• Workflow impact of each delay on the subsequent department/ shows.
• Predicting change in plan because of potential challenges/changes.
• Negotiating with shows on movement of artists to support overall efficiency of the department.
• Work closely with Production to drive artist efficiencies and improve deliveries.
• Work closely with Production to ensure discipline of time and delivery
• Understand new business requirement to provide insights into resource requirement later in the year to the resource team.
• Engage with Creative team both and show site and local site.
• Have keen knowledge of creative dependencies to take adequate strategic planning decisions.
• Work closely with CG sup and VFX Supervisor locally to ensure E2E deliveries.
• Understand what strategy is required to be undertaken when a show gets into a challenge - Artist increase? Decrease Scope? Change of workflow? Swap of resources? Swap of department?
• Audit and review recommended changes – if this has been effective.
• Optimizing the use of resources in coordination with Creative team by considering
• Cross training
• Cross movement across BUs

Engagement and Proposition

In collaboration with the Production team, ensure MPC standards are being met.
