For an international animated feature film, Mikros Animation is looking for FX Leads to join its multi-skilled team!   

Under the responsibility of the FX Supervisor, the FX Leads will work and be responsible for the production of the different types of FX present in the film, in accordance with the artistic vision of the director and the quality expectations of the project.

Your main responsibilities will be:
• Apply and make the FX Artists apply the aesthetic, technical and methodological guidelines defined by the FX Supervisor
• Be a driving force in proposing best practices and approaches necessary for the fabrication of effects
• Ensure that the overall creative vision of the director is respected and the visual requirements are met
• Listen to your team to identify and address potential technical issues and collaborate with the relevant teams to resolve them
• Ensure that the quotas established by the FX Supervisor and the Production Coordinator are respected (his own and that of his team)

Qualifications

Required Skills...  
• Expertise in Maya & Houdini software
• Knowledge of one (or more) of the following software: Katana / Arnold / Nuke
• Proficient skills in technical problem solving
• Previous team management experience required  
• Creative sense and ability to understand artistic direction  
• Knowledge of effects techniques such as particles, smoke, fire, dust, explosions and fluids 
• Previous experience in feature animation or live action required
• Experience in 2D FX and/or stylized FX
• Must be fluent in English

• Knowledge of Python/Mel
• Dynamic and collaborative work ethic
