Job Description

Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios Inc., (''MGM'') is looking for a Manager to join the Corporate Accounting team. The Corporate Accounting team is responsible for all accounting and reporting functions, including the monthly close and preparing quarterly deliverables for the Amazon team for SEC reporting.

Job Responsibilities:
• Work closely with the Director of Corporate Accounting to help manage the monthly/ quarterly financial close and ensure all deadlines are met
• Manage and mentor staff and senior accountants
• Coordinate and prepare monthly/quarterly reporting and supporting schedules
• Monitor financial activity for certain cost centers including employee costs, fixed assets, and lease accounting; manage close process for these divisions and prepare related financial reporting
• Manage corporate and divisional special projects as required
• Assist in annual external audit process
• Support corporate closing process as needed and cross-train on corporate functions
• Prepare and/ or review various journal entries, monthly allocations, and analyses
• Assist in various departmental tasks as needed
• Integral player in various areas of the close, including overhead, fixed assets, and ASC 842 lease accounting
• Contribute to Amazon/MGM integration process, including designing and implementing process changes and/or systems where appropriate
• Collaborate with Amazon accounting teams to understand relevant accounting policies and align accounting policies where necessary
• Review agreements and interpret contractual terms to determine appropriate accounting treatment
• Research technical accounting guidance and prepare internal technical accounting memos, as needed
• Liaise with other divisions including Financial Planning, Production Finance, Participations, and Tax within MGM and Amazon
• Ensure compliance of appropriate accounting policies and internal controls

Job Requirements
• Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting
• Public Accounting experience and CPA preferred
• In depth understanding of US GAAP
• Experience in preparing financial statements and/or Board Reports
• Advanced spreadsheet and database management skills
• Strong analytical and technical skills
• Highly organized and able to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced environment
• Professional, self-motivated and able to work both independently and in a team environment
• Strong communication skills
• Entertainment experiences a plus
