Director, Business Development Operations & Strategy

Job Description

This role (Director, BD Operations & Strategy) will be expected to work with the SVP of Business Development & New Initiatives in overseeing and managing many of Marvel's new business opportunities and partnerships. As many of these new businesses will not be systemized and formalized, it will be the responsibility of the new hire and their team, to work cross LOB, and where necessary, with TWDC, in creating best practice processes and structures that lead to operational successes for the new businesses and partnerships. As the development of these new businesses will be a constant evolution, it is the role of the new hire to be constantly strategizing, communicating cross-LOB, and executing new opportunities in support of the new businesses and partnerships.
As stellar communication skills will be vital for the new hire, the new hire will be expected to frequently build and develop strategy and overview decks to assist in communication to Sr. Management, cross-LOB, TWDC, 3rd party partners, and to their respective team. As a leader, the new hire is expected to provide constant mentorship and support to their directs.
This role is for a logical and pragmatic, out-of-the-box thinker and problem solver, who has the ability to stay calm and composed under pressure.

Responsibilities:
• Manage 3rd party partnerships and respective team
• Build and manage new Marvel business opportunities
• Interface with both Marvel and TWDC LOBs in support of 3rd party Marvel & Disney partnerships and opportunities
• Spearhead and present decks and slides in support of the new Marvel businesses and opportunities

Basic Qualifications:
• At least 10 years of professional experience, and at least 5 years of experience working at a large entertainment, tech, media company or an established brand with multiple LOBs
• Has experience working with and presenting to Sr. Management
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Logical thinker and problem-solver
• Is passionate about growing businesses and goes above and beyond
• Is polite, kind and treats others the same way as they would want to be treated

Required Education

BA / BS Degree

Preferred Education
• MBA graduate preferred
