Job Description
The Sr Production Build Engineer is a member of an IT Build Engineering team. The team supports the installation, maintenance, upgrade and general support of desktop hardware, operating systems/software and associated services for use across the Lucasfilm companies. In addition, responsibilities include setup and support of key production systems such as asset management tools, remote production storage and networking support and will liaise closely with tier 3 teams as well as remote Production technology teams.

The Sr Production Build System Engineer will work with the team to develop and maintain the systems build services of Lucasfilm and its divisions globally, ensuring the smooth and efficient deployment and execution of desktops and systems images for use by other IT, IS, & Engineering teams and throughout the user base. The Sr Production Build System Engineer will be active in both development projects and service support.

They will create and maintain operating system images and software packages including hardware drivers, for Windows and MacOS. Responsible for maintaining software license servers as well as developing tools and other systems that ensure systems are kept secured and updated for core IT services across the company's locations globally.

The Production Build System Engineer should take advantage of modern DevOps approaches while also drawing on traditional IT techniques, to ensure the availability of IT services that provide the core foundation of IT services which are essential for the smooth operation of our multi-site, award winning film production and visual effects companies.

What You'll Do
• Support SCCM infrastructure for security patches, package/application creation and system deployments
• Support JAMF infrastructure for MacOS and iOS deployments including patches, package/ application creation and hardware deployments
• Assist in driving projects geared at reducing the amount of service request tickets
• Assist in software upgrades and ensure software license tracking is accurately maintained
• Key resource for client hardware inventory data analytics
• Participate in Production tech engineering efforts (systems design/build) when warranted
• Support VMware Horizon View based Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) including client software and VDI images
• Provide support for all IT teams including remote Production teams
• Strive for operational efficiencies of the IT infrastructure to the highest levels, through implementing effective service monitoring, maintenance programs and foundational system design with a global perspective
• Provide excellent customer service, including clear verbal and written communications
• Work closely with other technical groups to ensure that IT standards and technologies are in line with overall technical direction and security posture of Lucasfilm and its companies
• Maintain documentation and processes around key IT services in the organization
• Identify and implement improvements to automated network monitoring tools, including alerting, based on findings from Server Log reviews to streamline alerting and reduce time to resolution.

What We're Looking For
• 6 to 7 years of experience in hardware and systems development, installations, maintenance and support with 3+ years of Desktop Build Support Experience in a 500+ user environment. NOTE Will consider candidates with only 2+ years of Desktop Build Support Experience in a 500+ user as a Desktop Build Support Level 1 tech.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and respond to changing deadlines and priorities.
• Strong experience with System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) and Windows 10 management via Group Policy Objects
• Experience with Linux OS
• Must have experience in Powershell and SQL scripting
• Strong experience with JAMF for managing macOS-based systems
• Excellent organizational and attention to detail skills with a focus on quality.
• Ability to exercise sound judgment and take initiative.
• Ability to work for and with a diverse range of managers and team members.
• Associates or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a similar degree
• Nice to have, but not required:
• Experience working in and supporting a TV or Film Production environment
• VMware Horizon View VDI is a plus
• Python scripting experience
