The Role:
This role is the backbone and driving force for helping us become zero waste through sorting and educating others. This is a seasonal,
part - time position. Hours per week will vary depending on show schedule and business needs at the time.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee all venue sus tainability initiatives
• Recruiting, staffing and managing sustainability department
• Ensure that all events are properly staffed
• Be an ambassador to all Band Members to help them understand their role in achieving the venue's sustainability goals.
• A ssist in employee engagement programs such as the water bottle refill punch cards, post show sort giveaways and new ideas.
• Engage fans and encourage them to participate in our sustainability programs through activities or education.
• Work with vendors t o ensure Compactor, Compost, Glass, etc. are always emptied when needed
• Research ways to donate items to reduce waste, and put into practice
• Ensure employees are scheduled in ESS for all events
• Attend Pre - Show Department Meetings.
• Report directly to regional Sustainability Manager
• Maintain logs and track all Sustainability numbers
• Manage Post - Show sorting.
• Educating, managing and reducing food and general waste from vendors
• Ensuring all concessions have proper waste receptacles.
• Donating lost and found as needed
• Partner with fellow band members at the end of show to close the venue - this includes collecting recyclables from the lawn and/or
reserved section, picking up and properly storing event equipment such as lawn chairs, barricade, E tc.
• Facilitate department meetings
- Other Tasks as Assigned by the Operations Manager
Qualifications:
• Position requires about 90% of the time spent walking, bending, reaching, stooping, lifting and carrying 50 lbs.+ with abou t 65% of that
time spent sorting materials
• Dedication to participate in something that will have a real and immediate impact to the cause
• Must be able to work well with other departments
• Experience in events, zero waste events are a plus
• A positive attitude
• Creative thi nker and problem solver
• A strong sense of teamwork and ability to execute programs
