JOB DESCRIPTION –SOFTWARE ENGINEER (SETTLEMENT) - 6 Months FTC

Location: Flexible

Division: TM International, IT Business Solutions

Line Manager: Director, IT Business Solutions

Contract Terms: Fixed Term Contract, 40 hours per week (if full time)

THE TEAM

At Ticketmaster we are leaders in the business of selling the live entertainment experience to fans around the world.

This role is a core function within our IT Business Solutions team as Senior Software Engineer, reporting to the Director IT Business Solutions.

Alongside this, the role will form close partnerships and collaborations with our IT Cloud team. Utilizing the AWS technology platforms for both integrations and application environments. The Team is a Development and Support team focused on developing and maintaining Ticketing Applications, Settlement Applications, Analytics and Reporting services, Ticket printing applications, fulfilment processes and other business critical applications.

We develop business critical software that optimises revenue and is robust, efficient and fits the business objective.

THE JOB

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Software Engineer who can play a pivotal role in the development of a finance settlement application.

You will have experience developing robust software solutions. Able to work as part of team and also have the initiative to take ownership and leadership when required. In this role you will be expected to deliver reliable and maintainable applications and support any current Applications to the appropriate standards and proactively review and implement a program of constant improvements to maintain industry standards, and up to date technology and methodologies. You will also provide business analysis input into the design, development and implementation of systems, automation, and tooling for software engineering teams to achieve their goals.

You will work closely with the IT Cloud team and the database team to develop the Application and deployment pipelines in AWS and work closely with the SQL Admin to maintain and streamline database processes and reporting services.

The person in this role will have the ability and gravitas to be independent when needed and also be a team player. WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
• Work as part of a Software Engineering team
• Maintain software standards and provide guidance to your team on appropriate software standards
• Create reliable and maintainable code and Applications to appropriate standards
• Support the current business software applications.
• Provide analysis input into the design, development and implementation of systems, Applications, and tooling for the software engineering team to achieve their goals.
• Work closely with peers in the Cloud team to implement solutions that are scalable, secure and easily maintained
• Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code
• Integrate data storage solutions
• Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to mitigate and address these issues
• Document code to support system maintenance

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW (or TECHNICAL SKILLS/COMPETENCIES)
• Several years industry experience
• Strong knowledge of .NET(WPF & web API) web framework like ASP.NET
• Proficient in C# and Javascript with a good knowledge of their ecosystems
• Familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server and other cloud based database systems
• Proficient in cloud-based services with AWS such as Lambda, Cloud Formation, Step Functions and S3
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming
• Skill for writing reusable libraries
• Familiar with various design and architectural patterns
• Experience with popular web application frameworks
• An understanding of Cloud computing and building distributed applications in the Cloud
• Knack for writing clean, readable, and easily maintainable code
• Understanding of fundamental design principles for building a scalable application
• Experience creating database schemas that represent and support business processes
